On July 9, 2018 an experiential training day about disabilities in emergencies was held. The experiential training is an activity developed within the SERM Academy; this day was particularly addressed to firefighters and FVG Civil Protection personnel.
During the experiential training, lecturers presented the general aspects concerning the management of people with disabilities in emergency scenarios, analyzing different categories of disability.
In the second part of the day, the participants were involved in practical exercises on mobility impairments, and hearing and visual disabilities, in which they were able to learn specific useful means for providing assistance to people with disabilities during emergencies.
Some speakers are part of the National Observatory on safety and rescue for people with special needs, set up in 2015 by the Fire Brigade.
