Portis Vecchio training camp
The SERM Academy was founded with the aim of contributing to the development of an integrated system model for the management of the response in seismic emergency and the improvement of cross-border interoperability among the different subjects involved after an earthquake.
Portis Vecchio, abandonded after the Friuli earthquake of 1976, with its surviving buildings, is used as a training ground for technical and operational training for the assessment of structural criticalities and safety in seismic emergency.
The project sees the synergistic collaboration between the Civil Protection of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, the University of Udine, the National Fire Brigade, the Association of Earthquake-hit Municipalities and the Mayors of the reconstruction of Friuli and the Municipality of Venzone.
